Chairul
Tanjung
Born in Jakarta in 1962, Chairul is the founder and Chairman of CT
Corp.
Prior to establishing CT Corp, Chairul started and ran several
businesses. The first one was a medical/dental equipment trading
business which he established in 1983 under CV Abadi Medical and
Dental Supply. Other businesses included a contracting/property
development business for government and private sector projects,
as well as shoes and roof tile manufacturing. Chairul Tanjung
established CT Corp in 1987 under the name Para Group and has
successfully nurtured CT Corp to reach its current state.
Chairul is currently active as President Commissioner in the core
group companies:
- PT. Bank Mega Tbk
- PT. Televisi Transformasi Indonesia (Trans TV)
- PT. PT Duta Visual Nusantara Tivi 7 (Trans|7)
- PT. Mahagaya Perdana
Outside of CT Corp, Chairul is also active as Chairman of the
Indonesia Forum, Board Member of the Pacific Basin Economic
Council, Chairman of the Indonesia National Kidney Foundation,
Board Member of the Indonesian Committee for Humanitarian
Programs, the Indonesian Red Cross, and the Jakarta Art
Foundation. He formerly served as President of the Badminton
Association of Indonesia.
Chairul graduated from faculty of Dentistry, University of
Indonesia in 1987 and obtained Master's degree of Business
Administration Executive from Education and Management Development
Institute (IPPM - Institut Pendidikan & Pengembangan Manajemen) in
1993.
